Basic Inequalities
If a>b then
a+c>b+c
a-c>b-c
ac>bc if c is positive
ac<bc if c is negative
There are 5 inequality symbols,
These inequality symbols are: less than (<), greater than (>), less than or equal (≤), greater than or equal (≥) and the not equal symbol (≠).
Intervals in Mathematics
In mathematics real interval is a set of real number that contains all real number lying between any two numbers of the set.
Intervals notation
Suppose 1 ≤ x < 3, then we represent it by x∈ (belongs to symbol is ∈) [1,3)
So you can conclude that the symbol [ / ] means the point is included and
"( "/ ") " this symbol means the point is not included.
